Become A TPS Board Moderator
What The Job Entitles and Requires

--- Moderators must be present on the forums at least 3 times a week to extensively review in the board(s) they've chosen to moderate. No post should go past the first page without at least 3 reviews!

--- Moderators are to ensure that no post leaves the first page without at least three reviews on a given piece.

--- Moderators have the ability to move a post on the forum to another board if they feel it suits better elsewhere, provided they send a private message notification to the author of the piece to inform them of the move and where they can now find their piece.

--- Moderators are asked to report threads which abuse the Terms Of Service, this information can be found in the stickied topic at the top of each board.

--- Moderators that fail to fulfill their duties will be stripped of their position without warning. Any moderator found abusing their power will also be removed.

If you are seriously considering applying for a Moderator position, please, only do so under the circumstances that you plan on being a part of TPS for an extensive period of time and you are sure that you can fulfill the requirements. If you do not plan on being an active participating member of the site you need not apply.
Only those applying who have more than 50 posts will be considered.
Any accounts with violations/red warnings will not be considered!

F.A.Q. - How do I apply to become a Co-Administrator or Administrator? - We do not have an application to become a Co-admin or Admin. Co-admin's and Admin's are given their positions by the webmaster, DragonsOfRose. Generally, moderators who have been onboard the site for more than 7 months, have fulfilled their duties, and have proven to be trustworthy towards The Poet Sanctuary are given top priority over Co-admin and Admin positions.

F.A.Q. - How much do I get paid? Simple. You don't. TPS is a completely non-profit website, all staff members work on a volunteer basis, including our webmaster.

I'm not going to lie to you; my position regarding forums is relative - I have only just entered the '21st century'. And for that reason, I may not be as experienced as my other applicants.

However, this has not hindered any of my work, thus far. Rather, it has enhanced it. I live for education: - to learn about new concepts, meet new people; and engage in a friendly manner. It is what drives me, and hence I will be able to overcome this inexperience in a speedy fashion – thus providing optimum work ethic.

In reference to my ability in understanding poetry, this is not limited. I have been raised with a family of writers, allowing my talents to manifest, and destroy any narrow-mindedness I may have had. This has given me the ability to comment appropriately, and where due – making fairness a quality I promote.

Time, is an issue I see you care about dearly; after all it’s only natural you wish for ‘The Poet Sanctuary’ to be maintained. This is why I am happy to state; I will be available for the following times (GMT Time):

Monday to Friday:
6:00-7:00 A.M.
5:00-10:00 P.M.

Saturday to Sunday:
On most occasions, all day.

Additional Comments:

Before I found ‘The Poet Sanctuary’, I was lost in a void of emotions; unable to express them. This site has given me the ability to release the pain I have built sub-consciously. Therefore, I wish to give something back; as it has changed my life.

i have moderated on a hip hop forum (freestyle underground) , but in the poetry section for about a year, until the site no longer existed under the same owner. i have participated in many of the same kinds of forums, but this is the first poetry-only site i've ever been on. i like the diversity.

Additional Comments:

i can be on at least four times a week. i only have internet while i'm at work, currently, but those include two seven hour days and two three and a half hour days. i work retail in a store that doesn't get much business, and i spend most of my time on here, anyway. i may soon have internet in the evenings as well, b/c i might be able to pick up wifi at the new place i am staying. if you don't find that i'm active enough, i understand; i just saw it stated that presence is required at least three times a week, and i definitely got that.

thank you for reviewing my application, and also-- for making this site. it's really nice to be heard.

Additional Comments:

Part of the requirements for being a board moderator I noticed, was being able to log in at least three times a week. I eclipse this easily, with 3 plus hours a day. I tend to give lengthy reviews on poems, instead of the usual one-liners most people give. People like to see other people care about their work, which I do. I'm also applying to enforce the 3 comments rule for everyone on that particular board. Everybody deserves to be discovered.

I am applyin for a position to keep the board up. I am noticin slow reactions to the 3 REPLIES FOR EVERY ONE YOU POST rule. I wud like to help out, give everybody a chance to feel good about their post. I can be on 7 days a week any time of the day, i work at home so no problemz wid that at all. I keep it real, a good hearted dude, alwayz positive.

I have worked as a moderator on very well respected and popular Palm mobile forum called Th3palmz. I was responsible for helping set the site up from the ground since, at the time, the site was new. Once we got it off the ground, I was a dedicated administrator / moderator of the site. I have experience with the moving/renaming/removing threads, moderating and keeping organization, helping the members follow the forum rules, enforcing the forum rules, bringing new members to the site by promoting, etc etc. Any duty that may be a part of being a moderator on a forum with a high volume of traffic.

Additional Comments:

I am applying because I would like the opportunity to contribute to this wonderful forum in other ways besides just posting. Not only to show my appreciation, but since I like it here and I have a lot of downtime at work usually, I think I can lend a hand. Although you seem to have an abundance of moderators and admin here, I think I can be of some service to you. If you think so, please consider me.
