So evident the anguish, The quiet voice spills over, Silently into the night. Smiles linger, only to fade, Into their death. A battle follows, One that dared to dream, Of victory. The price was paid, And now in stillness waits, For coming dawn. That breathes new life, Into the wasted line, Of men. Of eyes closed tight, To danger, And opened only to peace.
