I sit between a tree and shifting foliage observing an enchanted toad balancing on a large stone, while dazzling elegant diamonds shimmer like glass in the tree and streaming crystal entrances me, blinds me
a perfect summer evening I watch as lush, sophisticated ladies riding in beautiful enchantment arrive with hands cupping crystal balls charming, lovely ladies, blind to me and my toad and the shifting foliage go up the stairs to the hall
the last lady driving quickly a girl child of thirteen as her half-sister is gracelessly taking my enchanted toad from me and I watch blindly my stone as the ladies of the summer solstice convene, their carriages and gondolas sit by the tree where I sit blind, unseen, disregarded my balancing toad taken from me
so I sit, and balance garden clippers on my forehead then a crystal ball, then beautiful diamonds and glass, I sit, wait for my toad my enchanted, balancing toad one evening, it will arrive down from that shimmering hall

As explanation, I think I should note that for some reason I feel I am in the story-telling mode rather than the poetry writing mode- it seems the words in the drops of peotry list struck me as a story more than a poem. So it doesn't rhyme, and every time I read it, I feel like I want to take it a step farther and write a short fairy tale from it. It's all the Grimms and Hans Christian Anderson's fairy tales I have been perusing lately's fault. Forgive me if I didn't quite fall into the poem category here.
