White snow shimmering, the red Christmas lights fallen. Good-bye to Santa. This, to me, has so much more meaning that even I can't even begin to find. A simple child wanting Christmas to come back? No, there is something more but I can't pinpoint it exactly... someone help!

aoeclaad, To me it represented the loss of innocence, as well as displaying the sadness of good-byes. What it means to you when you write it is what matters. Lady B

It does seem like it's someone who has lost their imagination and belief. I love it.

amazing how something so simple can have such depth. to me it really spoke of a child coming of age who now understands that santa is just a story...

Thanks all for the comments and I agree, now that I see your reasoning, I can find that same message. I knew there was more to this Haiku than what I thought! haha. Thanks all <3

It can also be the subtle letdown on the day after Christmas, when the snow is still on the ground, the long anticipated presents are all unwrapped, empty boxes festoon the floors, eggnog lies fermenting on the kitchen counter, and you've got to take down 3000 feet of lighting and 1,246 ornaments ...

Another thing speaks to me here: the correlation between the red lights fading and the bleak, white snow... almost as though the lights were required in order to keep the cold and blankness away.

Ooh, very observant Violist! That makes sense, as well. With Christmas over, perhaps the joyousness of the season, too has fallen onto the white snow. Thank you for the comment! I enjoy finding depth from even the shallowest pools and you are aiding me in that goal!
Kudos.
